Attività stage:

  • Interns will work both in the Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) Section and in the American Citizens Services (ACS) Section. They will be given the possibility to develop their organizational and communication skills; they will have the chance to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, and multicultural environment, where they will develop their interpersonal skills to ensure effective, tactful public assistance. Confidentiality is a must.
  • VISA customer care management: greet Visa applicants; provide general information; assist the Visa intake team at the Section’s counters and in managing DHL pick-ups; translate documents from Italian to English and vice versa. Assist American officers in projects and duties as assigned.
  • American Citizens customer care management: assist the ACS team in providing the highest standards of assistance to American citizens in distress; liaison with local police and port authorities, tourist offices, and navigation lines, to collect and update the necessary information to assist American citizens; update emergency plans; assist in managing Social Security Number applications.
  • Work with both the Visa team and the American Citizens Services team on projects as assigned (July 4th event and other Consular events as needed)

Requisiti / competenze richieste:

  • Experience in customer service with the public is preferred
  • Must exercise tact, courtesy, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work in team
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in English and Italian. Knowledge of a third language a plus.
